the art museum with Madi + Chase
I had been dying to shoot something for myself - which normally happens after busy season. I reached out to my past senior rep, Madi, and asked if her and her boyfriend would want to model for a few concepts I had in mind. The first, being the art museum, I had seen this being done by other photographers and was so intrigued to give it my own spin. I wanted this session to feel like a date in a vintage romance movie. I wanted it to be less focused on “smiling at the camera” and more about their natural interactions and being playful as a couple. I still I often have struggled with this in the past because I spent so long learning “how-to-pose” that it becomes muscle memory and less creative. I wanted to break out of this for these images & it really helped.
I also was craving that story-telling look. That raw authentic look. The crisp clean look of modern photography with a film-inspired twist. One of my goals for 2025 is to shoot more of what inspires me so I was so happy to be able to get a head start on that here.
I hope to incorporate this more and more into my work and couples sessions over the coming year, so enjoy these stunning images!!
& of course, let me know if this is something you’d like to do with your significant other! I am hoping to meet lots of couples in Indy that are looking for this cinematic touch to photography.
