Punk Rock Family Session in Hamilton County, IN

I’ve been doing the Phipps family photos almost as long as they’ve been a family. I’ve watch Sawyer + Caspian grow up as well as their parents grow as parents and as people. It’s amazing that I’ve gotten to document their growth and their memories as a family. In all the sessions we’ve done, this was definitely my absolute favorite. They were true to themselves and it shines in their photos.

When I photograph families, especially with young children, I try to take a more relaxed approach so it’s easier on everyone. A lot of times the children dictate the poses and the parents stress that they won’t smile at the camera in every image. But I’m hoping this session and the images I’m sharing with you, show you that the children don’t have to be perfectly behaved. Not every image has to be standing and smiling at the camera. Sometimes those “in-between” moments are even more precious than any pose I could put you in. Mamas, children aren’t always behaved, kids (and even parents) aren’t always “in the mood” for family photos, AND that’s okay!!! Just schedule your pictures, show up, be yourself, and let me document your family, as you are. You won't regret it!
