Sunflower Minis // August 15, 2019 // Golliher Farms
For years I have dreamt about photographing in a bright blooming sunflower field. Last week I finally had the chance to do so with a gorgeous senior rep and two lovely junior reps that drove an hour to meet me at Golliher farms. They had rows upon rows of sunflowers of all types, from the classic bright yellow to even some red and orange tones.
When we arrived it was fairly quiet in terms of human guests, but the pigs were going at it. It was funny to see them piling up as we enjoyed the fresh air and beautiful blooms. The farms also had cows, but they were much quieter compared to the pigs across the way.
We had the most perfect sunset for this evening, I was so excited to photograph these ladies during the sunflower season.
Golliher farms was lovely, it was small and secluded, with a perfect view of the sun setting. For an additional $5 you could even create your own unique sunflower bouquet in mason jars they provided. The mason jars were so cute, and even though I am NOT a florist I took home a bouquet I made myself! It is still looking amazing in my kitchen widow sill. I cut the flowers uneven and picked ones of varying sizes so my bouquet wasn’t the best, but it was still such a fun experience.
They allowed guests to stay until dusk so we could experience the sunset with the sunflowers as the perfect setting. This made for some amazing shots, which of course made me drag the sunhat out of my trunk as an accessory, what place could be better for a sunhat?!
They turned out better than I had even imagined. So enjoy viewing our adventures from that night in the sunflower field.
xoxo
